How Do I Get Involved?

The New Zion Baptist Church believes that everyone has a gift to shared with everyone.. Sharing an individuals experiences and challenges help others to gain faith and courage to live and become successful through unseen challenges of everyday life. New Zion Baptist Church is the place where Christian leadership spawn. No matter what the age, profession, life experience or challenges, we encourage everyone to get involved in our church monthly, weekly and daily activities.  These are the ways how one can learn spiritually,  grow in the knowledge of God, become loving servants while being a part of the growing ministry at New Zion Baptist Church.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, the youth of New Zion Baptist Church attend Sunday School Classes broken down according to appropriate age groups.  One of the better ways for children to learn is to allow interaction, hands on activities and group discussion in their own classes. Children participate also in general assembly some are elected to review lesson ideas through interactive skits and plays. Sunday School classes are taught in such a way that the children learn and retain information at high rates. Our teachers are selected by our Sunday School Superintendent and screened through the senior pastor, deacons and other key ministry officials of the New Zion Baptist Church. The New Zion Baptist Church feel that the future of the Church of Jesus Christ depend on preparing young people to be faithful disciplined servants of God. The youth ministry at New Zion Baptist Church encourage our youth to share the love of God through song, praise dance and hosting events that provide platforms for effectively spreading the love, honor and goodness of God in our community and the world.

Young Adults

Young adults face many challenges in todays world. The goals of the New Zion Baptist Church are to help and encourage young adults of today learn to make critical decisions that will be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord and beneficial to ones spiritual, social and economic future. In todays society making mistakes are sometimes hard to recover from. We realize that the world might not be so forgiving but God forgives all who has a sincere heart, believe and love Jesus Christ. Life as a young adult can be complicated but with the love and support of a solid church family support system, God can make blessings become reality.  The New Zion Baptist Church welcome all young adults.  We provide an atmosphere where college students and young people with new career challenges can find sincere mentoring relationships. These positive loving relationships help young adults find answers and solutions through the word of God.

Women’s Ministry  “Women of The Spirit”

New Zion Women’s Ministry meet once a month.  These meeting  provide opportunities the women of the church to interact and share everything from spiritual testimonies to recipes. The focal point of the group is to develop a support system for women and help each other find spiritual solutions to everyday challenges, whether it may be marriage, raising children, managing a household, nutrition or health issues. The premier goals of these sessions are to foster leaderships skills to create mentors for younger women and girls in our church and community.

Men’s Ministry  “Men of The Spirit”

The New Zion Baptist Church encourage all of the men of the church to meet once a month to interact and study the word of God. During our sessions the group discussions are usually lead by the senior pastor or deacons of the church. Discussions are focused on developing family leadership skills and developing church leadership skills to be utilize for mentoring groups and teaching other young men and boys  how to become true servants of God. During these meetings we also plan community projects that require participation from groups in the community. The men of these groups maintain contact on a regular basis by all social media, email, text and phone.

Adult Mentoring 

 

The New Zion Baptist Church utilize the benefits of four mentoring groups.

 

  • Jacob’s Way   The men of this program provide leadership by meeting with young men sixteen and above providing activities on a regular basis mentoring young men in everyday life situations and helping them develop life skills imperative to development of strong spiritual values.

 

  • Naomi’s Way  The women of this program provide leadership by meeting with young women sixteen and  above providing activities an a regular basis mentoring young women in everyday life situations and helping them develop life skills imperative to development of strong spiritual values.

 

  • The Joseph Group The men of this program provide leadership by meeting and providing activities  on a regular basis mentoring young boys fifteen and below in everyday life situations and helping them develop life skills imperative to development of strong spiritual values.

 

  • The Mary Group The women of this program provide leadership by meeting and providing activities on a regular basis mentoring young girls fifteen and below in everyday life situations and helping them develop life skills imperative to development of strong spiritual values.

 

These groups provide mentoring from older to younger people by interacting in group activities, community projects,  sports activities, camping fishing and other social activities that provide opportunities for interaction and spiritual growth. As you can see getting involved is easy and very rewarding to all that chose to serve.
