Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of the New Zion Baptist Church is our mission to all of God’s people. It begins in our own community, and spreads to other communities and towns. The New Zion Baptist Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as visiting the sick in home, hospitals and nursing homes, maintenance at our church facility, to planning the church events.
Mission Outreach
The New Zion Baptist Church is thrilled to be part of the spreading of God’s word where and whenever we can. We are active in serving our communities with our time, money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our members to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they have moved to a new town or live and minister in our own community.
Music & Drama
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many of our church members get involved in our music and praise ministry. Some are solo vocalist. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of the New Zion Baptist Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Ushers
The usher team at the New Zion Baptist Church fill an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a humble-hearted group of men and women who’s ministry is integral to church life.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel, we maintain an active Facebook, Twitter feed, email and text messaging for additional church communication.
Marriage Counseling
Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several members at New Zion Baptist Church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role of listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.
Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. New Zion Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s grace. Each Sunday, before morning service, our deacons and volunteers conduct prayer service for those in need of God’s favor. Throughout the week, our staff pray for those who are in need. Our pastor is in continual prayer for a designated list of church members everyday and any special prayer requests for those that are sick or destitute. Each Tuesday the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
Youth Sunday
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, New Zion Baptist Church designates one Sunday a month as youth Sunday. This special Sunday gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and worship styles. Our youth directors and volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from plays, praise dance and vocal music participation.
Annual Youth Trips
Each summer, New Zion Baptist Church sponsors a trip to a theme park. These trips are usually in conjunction a gospel concert in that same location. These trips offer an opportunity for the youth and other members of the church share in fun recreation away from home and for a nice rewarding weekend getaway.
